Phase 2
Organization:
- Field is 75Lx55W Yards.
- 3 Zones.
- Endzone, 1 Player- Server (GK)
- Second Zone, 3 Defensive Players and 1 Opposing Player applying pressure.
- Third Zone, 2 Attacking Players with 1 Opposing Player applying pressure.
- Balls are placed with the GK.
Instructions:
- Balls start with a pass from GK to a defender.
- Defenders try and play a ball to Midfield Players.
- Now a Defender is able to join the midfield zone once a ball is played into second third.
- GK is now an available option for support.
- Now both Midfielders and Defenders can score by dribbling or receiving a pass through the gate
- If blue wins the ball, they go to goal
Coaching Points:
- Once in possession, can defender go forward in to space?
- Midfielders must either check to receive or open up and make a peeling run to open up more space for defender to move in to.
- Defenders joining from the wing, must be wide to stretch the opposing team.
- If penetrating pass isn't available, can we keep possession by swinging the ball around to switch the point of attack.
